Meet Matt, a design enthusiast whose journey began with rhythms and melodies. From touring the country as a drummer to crafting designs, his diverse background fuels his unique approach to design thinking.
With a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from The University of Central Florida and a Master of Architecture from The University of Florida, Matt's education laid the foundation for his dynamic career. Drawing parallels between the music industry and architecture, he sought out the vibrant world of Themed Entertainment.
During his tenure at NBCUniversal Creative, Matt played pivotal roles in iconic projects like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley and Volcano Bay. But his passion doesn't end there. Matt is also a dedicated educator. As adjunct faculty, he helped shape the minds of future designers at both The University of Florida Graduate School of Architecture and the University of Central Florida College of Arts & Humanities.
Away from Make_, Matt is a dedicated husband and father of 3 who loves taking his family on unique adventures. With a blend of creativity, expertise, and a dash of rhythm, Matt continues to push boundaries in the world of design, creating experiences that captivate and inspire.
Andrew MacPhee, AIA
Meet Andy, a seasoned architect with over 20 years of professional experience and a lifelong passion for the built environment. From Lego creations to treehouses in the woods, his fascination with design started early on. Hailing from Massachusetts, Andy draws inspiration from the birthplace of the Revolution and the pursuit of happiness that shapes our world.
After earning his Bachelor of Architecture from Florida Atlantic University in 2004, Andy began his journey at a boutique firm in Boca Raton, designing luxury homes and multi-unit residences for an international clientele. Since settling in Orlando in 2011, he's been shaping diverse projects, from hospitality to theme parks, as a dedicated project architect.
Currently serving as the Vice President & Director of Operations at Make Design Studios since 2022, Andy is a licensed architect in Florida and former president of AIA Orlando. He also lends his expertise to the City of Orlando Board of Zoning Adjustment.
Outside of work, you'll find Andy behind the lens, tending to his freshwater fish, cruising on his Harley, or enjoying quality time with his cat and five dogs. Passion drives him every day, shaping the world one design at a time.
